Many Porsche enthusiasts nevertheless vacillated between mistrust and total rejection, and the 911 continued to sell well. Nevertheless, the 928 became a successful model and was produced for a proud 18 years. Later models were equipped with a 5.4-liter engine, producing up to 257 kW (350 hp).
